DW Gauge Panels
Hello! My name is Kory Brooks, and I am the sole proprietor of this website dwgaugepanels.com, also facebook.com/dwpanels, @DWGarageProject on YouTube, dashwerksmerch.etsy.com, and patreon.com/DWGaugePanels. I created all the base templates used in all my products. I offer full customization for almost all of the templates for your needs. I own a 1974 Dodge D100 short bed regular cab which was used in the R&D for many of my products and products to come. I also take on custom requests and offer simple items such as BBQ utensils and Key hangers or chains. "DW Gauge Panels & More" is based in Visalia CA.
I, Kory Brooks of DW Gauge Panels, produce customized digital files and renderings of products sold. Digital files are sent to a machining company, SendCutSend or others to process the final item + drop shipping. My Merchandise is "print on demand" through Printify, with no more than a 28% profit margin. The higher priced items have a much lower margin, because I really want the things I make to be as affordable as possible even if I only make pennies on the dollar! I am proud of everything I create. Profits from everything sold on my websites goes into paying for website monthly expenses, product development and testing, and the occasional cup of coffee.
Contact me before you place an order to go over questions and details. Each gauge panel is made to order with full customization available at no extra charge. Other items may or may not be in stock and may offer made to order pricing at an additional charge
History
I started this venture in 2016 with my 1974 Dodge D100 pickup. The factory ammeter gauge shorted behind the cluster and nearly burned my dashboard out. I decided to throw some aftermarket gauges in and couldn't really use the factory plastic gauge panel the way I wanted to. It was not intended to fit aftermarket gauges unless you cut it up, which I did.
In 2017 I used my hobby level experience with 3D software (Google Sketchup) and started making prototypes of gauge panels using eMachineShop, first for my 1974, the 1972-1974 style. Then with help from a few friends in the Dodge DW truck groups on FaceBook I acquired some dash pads and panels for the 75-80 and 81-93 trucks. I finished my final templates for the 1975-1980 dashes first, then the 1972-1974 (V2) dashes which requires a little forming by hand and drilling holes to mount them due to the limitation of the dash pad style. (V3) of the 72-74 will soon be in development! The 1981-1993 panels are inlays like the factory fake wood grain but since they are aluminum you have solid mounting for custom gauges. I had the 81-93 dash sent for 3D scanning to make inlays with precision fitment. Soon afterwards I had replacement 4 piece door sill plates, and lower door panel plates for clean speaker installations. A successful first year had motivated me to develop a few more parts such as beauty covers over the radiator support and behind the grille assembly, firewall beauty plates for shaving the firewall clean, and a D series front suspension package that will tie new control arms, spindles, coil overs or air bags and brake packages from Wilwood into a complete front suspension conversion package. All of which are still in development until listed below.
- 2021 was my first year of sales and had 5 batches of multiple orders using Etsy. I hope to continue to make this venture successful and join the very few who make aftermarket parts for these trucks.
- Orders are no longer batch style as they were on Etsy. Orders are processed individually, and the processing time plus shipping is within 1 week. November 2022 marks the opening of the DW Gauge Panels website and the end of the Etsy run.
- April 2023 - I have expanded this shop to include other things I make such as key hooks and hangers, and BBQ utensils.
- February 2024 - I have included B series van gauge panels.
- April 2024 - I have started a YouTube channel to feature the rebuild of my 1974 D100 aka Dumpty 100, please like and subscribe!
- October 2024 - Dumpty 100 and I have changed shops, the new shop having a lot of fabrication machinery on hand, and started development of my most ambitious plan ever, the D series front suspension package.
- November 2024 - I created merchandise for fans of Dash Werks (DW Gauge Panels) and a line of customizable merch solely on Etsy and created a Patreon for super fans of my work and these trucks.
