RESUMING THE BUILD! Control Arm Updates

RESUMING THE BUILD! Control Arm Updates

Its been 1 whole year since I last done any work on Dumpty, and its killing me just as much as it has been you, especially those of you who have been waiting on the control arms.

I have something GOOD

I way over-shot my planned June release of the upper control arms for our 2WD trucks. 25% my fault (redesigns and corrections), 75% I couldnt find a suitable truck after the fact. Well my anxiety has BOILED OVER. If you need something done you gotta do it yourself!

I cant work on Dumpty easily until I get his front suspension rebuilt. I robbed some OG Fruth arms and sold them. I wrecked my D100 spindles making my super crude test jig. All I have are modified van lower control arms and nothing else. Dumpty has been sitting on a wheel to keep off the ground for 8 months. The wait is over, so guess what's coming...

Wilwood brake kit #140-11017 and Wilwood Pro Spindle #830-9807

With these 2 kits I can test fit a full proper install of my upper and lower control arms and make sure I have good geometry, clearance and fitment. The test fit of the upper and lower arms will translate into the successful test fitment of the uppers for van lowers as well.

This will be a new video on the build up series and followed by more things quickly. The temps have been getting mild again and I am amped up to get Dumpty put back together again!

In other news

I have gotten myself a 3D printer! I am very new to the 3D printing thing but not new to 3D design. Back in June I picked up a Creality Ender 3 pro super cheap but it had some problems. I went full send on critical upgrades and now the printer is running amazing. So you know what this means right? I want to 3D print some parts for our trucks!

Thats a bezel I designed for the Amazon special 7" touch screen I updated my printer with, to give an idea of the size Im working with. Its not a big printer, but for what Im doing I dont need a big one yet. I know that I can start with air vents, and vent block off plates, and gauge panel accessories but Im really drawing blanks on other things. Most of my designs have stemmed from me wanting to add things or fix things on my truck, but what you want might be something else. If you have any ideas, shoot me a message or comment on this post!
